Pakistan Condemns Houthi Attack on Madinah Power Station

Pakistan condemns the alleged Houthi attack on the Taibah power station in Madinah.
Pakistan has strongly condemned an alleged Houthi attack on the Taibah power distribution station in Madinah, calling it a serious provocation and a threat to regional security.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack took place on September 29 and targeted civilian infrastructure supplying electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque. The ministry described the incident as a matter of deep concern for Muslims worldwide.
Pakistan stressed that the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of worshippers and pilgrims must remain protected under all circumstances.
The Foreign Office called for an immediate and unconditional end to what it described as reckless actions. It said such attacks pose a serious threat to regional peace and security.
Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Saudi Arabia
Pakistan also reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.

The Foreign Ministry said Islamabad would continue to stand with Riyadh in protecting the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi citizens and pilgrims.
Pakistan also reiterated its commitment to efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
Saudi Coalition Blames Houthis
The Saudi-led coalition said the Houthis carried out the attack on the Taibah electricity distribution station early on September 29.
According to the coalition, an investigation and examination of drone debris linked the Houthis to the operation. Reuters reported that the attack disabled one transformer but did not disrupt the wider electricity network.
Coalition spokesman Maj Gen Turki al-Maliki said the station supplied electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque.
The Houthis rejected the accusation. A Houthi military source described the Saudi claim as false and denied targeting the holy sites.
Regional Tensions Escalate
The Madinah incident comes amid renewed tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-aligned Houthi movement.
The latest escalation follows a period of relative calm after a UN-brokered truce largely halted cross-border attacks in 2022. Reuters reported that fighting has intensified again this year, with attacks and military operations involving Saudi Arabia and Houthi forces.
Pakistan has repeatedly called for restraint and regional stability. Islamabad also condemned an earlier alleged Houthi drone attack targeting Makkah in September and reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia’s efforts to protect the Two Holy Mosques.
