Karachi, April 18, 2025 – A high-profile delegation from Pakistan’s chemicals & dyes sector engaged in pivotal discussions with Chinese industry leaders during InterDye 2025 in Shanghai, aiming to enhance bilateral trade and cooperation.

The delegation, led by Salim Valimuhammad, Chairman of the Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA), included Chief Coordinator Arif Balgamwala, former Chairman Abdul Rasheed Khatri, and former Vice Chairman Nadeem Aftab. The delegation met with Shi Xianping, Chairman of the China Dyestuff Industry Association (CDIA), and Ms. Weina Wang of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding trade under the Pakistan-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA), particularly by including more dye-related products under HS Code 3204.1600, given their high demand in Pakistan’s export industries. They also agreed to establish an arbitration committee comprising two members from each country to resolve any trade-related disputes between businesses.

“Both sides highlighted the importance of promoting InterDye as a key global platform for the dyes and chemicals industry, urging increased participation from stakeholders to create more opportunities for trade and networking.”

Salim Valimuhammad highlighted the mutual benefits of the collaboration, stating that it would not only increase trade volumes but also ensure smoother business relations through structured dispute resolution mechanisms.

The meeting reinforced the growing partnership between Pakistan and China in the chemical and dye sectors, with both sides committed to leveraging InterDye as a driver for future growth.

InterDye 2025, held in Shanghai, remains a leading international exhibition for the dye industry, bringing together key players to facilitate innovation and business expansion.
