RAWALPINDI, May 6, 2026: The funeral prayers of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed were offered at Chaklala Garrison with full military honours, attended by top civil and military leadership, following his martyrdom during an intelligence-based counter-terrorism operation in Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Col Khalid Hussain embraced martyrdom after sustaining critical injuries while leading his troops against terrorists reportedly backed by hostile elements. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to eliminate militant networks and ensure national security.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers including Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, senior military officials, retired officers, family members of the martyr, and a large number of ????????? attended the funeral prayers.

Paying tribute, the Prime Minister lauded Lt Col Khalid Hussain’s exceptional bravery, leadership, and unwavering commitment to defending the country. He stated that the sacrifices of such heroes strengthen the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and safeguard Pakistan’s peace and sovereignty.

“The armed forces, with the full support of the nation, remain determined to eradicate terrorism and its facilitators,” the Prime Minister said, emphasizing that the ???? ????? continues to reinforce national unity and resilience.

ISPR stated that the martyr will be laid to rest in his native area with full military honours. The armed forces and the nation expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and reaffirmed their commitment to honouring the sacrifices of those who lay down their lives for the country.

The martyrdom of Lt Col Khalid Hussain highlights the ongoing sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces in their continued fight against terrorism, particularly in volatile regions such as Balochistan.
