Karachi (December 22, 2022): The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in collaboration with the Qatar Red Crescent (QRC), distributed 200 Non-food Items in Sehwan and will distribute food packages to 200 flood-affected families in Kashmore. QRC representative Khaled Shaheen distributed relief items, including tarpaulin sheets, jerry cans, a kitchen set, a shelter tool kit, blankets, and mosquito nets, to the flood-affected families in Sehwan.

According to a press release, Pakistan Red Crescent has provided relief, including food and non-food items, to more than 58,000 families (348,000 people) in 18 flood-affected districts of Sindh. Moreover, Red Crescent Mobile Health Teams (MHTs) treated 40,000, provided them with free medicines, and conducted health awareness sessions for 42,000 people. In addition to the relief items, PRCS has provided more than 8.8 million liters of clean drinking water to flood-affected people in Sindh. Pakistan Red Crescent volunteers and staff have reached places where no other organization has been able to reach due to lack of access and are committed to continuing to help the last victims.

Khaled Shaheen, Qatar Red Crescent representative, praised PRCS efforts and stated that tomorrow they are going to Kashmore to distribute food package to 200 families. Sher Zaman, Deputy Director of PRCS Media Department, acknowledged the Qatar Red Crescent for assisting the flood-affected families and praised the efforts of local volunteers. The flood victims appreciated the efforts of the Red Crescent and expressed hope that this will continue in their area.
