Chief Coordinator Tajir Dost Scheme Mr. Naeem Mir said that the traders direly need to understand the concept of the ongoing Tajir Dost Scheme as the non-filer traders are paying more taxes than that of filer taxes. “By becoming filer, the non-filer traders can get relief from higher taxes” remarked Mr. Mir during a Seminar held for journalists and consequent press conference at RTO Lahore.
The Chief Coordinator gave a detailed briefing to the participants on SRO 457 and 1064 and proposed amendments in them. “The burden of indirect taxes in utility bills, petrol along with other items as well as withholding and sales tax can only be reduced if the traders pay their due taxes to the state” stated Mr. Mir.
“While commenting on the latest positive economic indicators, the Chief Coordinator stated that reduction in trade deficit and surge in exports is one of the major economic achievements of the federal government. “Enhancement in Forex reserves, historic achievements in stock market and reduction in interest rate and inflation speak volumes of the economic successes of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif-led economic team” added Mr. Mir.
He discussed the ongoing talks between FBR and traders and stated that talks between both the sides are going on after the strike observed last month but the traders also need to look into their demands. “Traders enjoy superior treatment in our country as they are always taken into confidence by the state before levying taxes over them but the same is not valid for salaried class and general public” stated Mr Mir.
He concluded that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strictly directed for the welfare and well being of traders and we are working round-the-clock for achieving the objective of the Prime Minister.
