Nadeem Afzal Chan, who defected from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), rejoined the PPP. In a joint press conference, Nadeem Afzal said that he has returned to his home today.

Addressing the press conference, he said that he started politics with the PPP, leaving the PPP was my wrong decision, I am satisfied with the decision to rejoin the PPP.

He said that I used to think that PTI is a people’s party but it has completely failed to meet the expectations of the people, now the fate of PTI is left to go home.

Nadeem Afzal Chan said that the decision was made due to some compulsions, I have returned to my home. I had said that I was Bhutto yesterday and I am Bhutto today. I always talked about my peasantry. I am now satisfied that I have returned to my home today.

Addressing a joint press conference, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the government is under pressure at present, not so much in the past. Imran Khan should resign before mistrust comes. If they do not resign, they will reach Islamabad and start a no-confidence motion. We will not leave China until the Prime Minister has made arrangements.

The PPP chairman also said that PPP is the home of Nadeem Afzal Chan. I welcome you back. Before reaching Islamabad, the elected will take the path to his home. PPP believes in people’s power and now the people will decide. ?

On this occasion, Bilawal Bhutto also invited other leaders who had left the party to return to the party. He said that the workers who have ever chanted the slogan of Jai Bhutto should come back.

Earlier on his arrival in Johar Town, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during a meeting with Nadeem Afzal Chan welcomed him to rejoin the PPP. He said on the occasion that the selected long march would take its way home before reaching Islamabad.

He said that we have to fight for the manifesto given to us by Quaid-e-Awam and Benazir Bhutto. The fact that Chen Sahib is now part of our caravan is a testament to the fact that the people of Pakistan are now becoming part of the anti-government movement with renewed vigor and enthusiasm.

Bilawal Bhutto further said that we want a transparent election and an elected government that works for the betterment of the people. We don’t take uterine, Khan is accustomed to uterine. The way the PPP is doing the opposition, the government is under a lot of pressure at the moment. We are giving Khan a deadline that he should leave the government before our long march reaches Islamabad. If they do not break the assembly then we will take long march to Islamabad and we will overthrow this government in a democratic way.

Chairman PPP said that our position from day one has been that we should fight against Imran Khan from both the fronts. The majority they have in parliament is not an organic majority. We will not leave China until we have arranged this government and prime minister.

Why did Nadeem Afzal Chan join PTI?

It should be noted that Nadeem Afzal Chan has been the spokesperson of Prime Minister Imran Khan for a long time after joining PTI. Nadeem Afzal Chan resigned from the post last year (January 2021).

Nadeem Afzal Chan had joined PTI in 2018 and participated in the general election from NA-88 Sargodha on PTI ticket but was not successful.

Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed him as his spokesman and special assistant in January 2019, but he resigned from his post in January 2021 due to differences with the government on several issues.

In January 2021, Nadeem Afzal Chan sent a critical tweet in support of a sit-in on the killing of Hazara workers in Machh Quetta and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s refusal to attend.

After his resignation, his family sources said, “Nadeem Afzal Chan and the rest of his family members have not decided to leave the PTI. However, he is being advised by some quarters to return to the PPP.
