Morocco King Mohammed VI Anniversary Celebrated in Karachi as Pakistan Ties Grow
Morocco marked King Mohammed VI’s 27th anniversary on the throne with a diplomatic reception in Karachi, highlighting the growing friendship and trade ties between Pakistan and Morocco.

KARACHI, August 11, 2026 — Morocco’s diplomatic community in Karachi celebrated the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne with a distinguished reception.
Moroccan Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Mohamed Karmoune and Honorary Consul General Ishtiaq Baig hosted the event at the Consul General’s residence.
Sindh Governor H.E. Syed Nehal Hashmi attended the ceremony. Consuls general, ministers, parliamentarians and senior government officials also joined the gathering.
Members of the Moroccan community and prominent business figures attended the reception. Several other distinguished guests also took part.
The ceremony opened with the national anthems of Pakistan and Morocco. Guests then joined the diplomatic celebrations marking the anniversary.

Honorary Consul General Ishtiaq Baig also spoke at the event. He described Morocco as his “second home” and highlighted the close relationship between the two countries.
Baig focused on the growing economic partnership between Pakistan and Morocco. He said bilateral trade has reached around US$800 million.
He expressed confidence that trade could exceed US$1 billion in the coming years.
