L’Oréal Pakistan Recognised at SDPI Conference for Advancing Women’s Economic Empowerment

L’Oréal Pakistan receives SDPI recognition for advancing women’s economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
L’Oréal Pakistan has received recognition in the Inclusive Development and Economic Growth awards category at the 29th Sustainable Development Conference, hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI).
The recognition acknowledges the company’s efforts to strengthen women’s economic participation and expand access to sustainable livelihoods through community programmes.
Vocational Training Creates Livelihood Opportunities
One of these initiatives is Beauty for a Better Life, supported by the Fondation L’Oréal and implemented in Pakistan with the Depilex SmileAgain Foundation.
The programme provides vocational beauty training to survivors of domestic violence and acid attacks. It aims to help participants develop practical skills and pursue employment or self-employment opportunities.
Digital Literacy Supports Women Entrepreneurs
L’Oréal Pakistan also supports a Digital Literacy Program through the L’Oréal Fund for Women, in partnership with CIRCLE.
The initiative equips women with digital and financial skills. These skills can help participants strengthen their home-based businesses and expand their economic opportunities.
Meanwhile, L’Oréal Paris runs its Stand Up Against Street Harassment initiative in collaboration with Bedari.
Pakistan, Indonesia Seek Stronger Trade Ties Through Business Cooperation
The programme raises awareness of safe and effective intervention techniques. It also encourages people to respond appropriately to street harassment and contribute to safer public spaces for women.
L’Oréal for the Future Showcased at Sustainability Expo
At the Sustainability Investment Expo (SIE), L’Oréal Pakistan also presented L’Oréal for the Future, the Group’s sustainability programme.
The programme focuses on four pillars:
- Stewarding the climate transition
- Safeguarding nature
- Driving circularity
- Supporting communities
Through these priorities, L’Oréal aims to advance sustainability across its operations while contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future.
The recognition at the SDPI conference highlights the company’s community initiatives, which combine skills development, digital inclusion and efforts to improve women’s safety and economic participation.
