KARACHI – President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Saleem-uz-Zaman has urged Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) to immediately clear the sewage water accumulated on the entrance of Korangi Industrial Area from EBM Causeway.
In a statement released by KATI, he mentioned that along with the EBM causeway, near to license branch of Mehran Town, sewage water has ruined the road, and accumulation of mess has become a great problem for any kind of commutation in the area. He said that due to this trouble many sectors of the Korangi Industrial area have been affected directly as the smooth commutation of industrial workers, logistics and common people is nearly impossible via the mentioned part of the road. He said that due to interruption on the road and slow traffic flowing, incidents of mugging and street crimes are being increased in the locality.
Saleem-uz-Zaman demanded that MD KWSB should take immediate notice of the issue and issue a direction to clear the road and proper maintenance of the sewerage system in the area. He noted that due to trouble caused by this sewerage water, industrial production and workers have been facing a number of related to commutation and also directly affecting a huge number of industries in the area.
He said that KITE DMC has done great job to resolve the problems related to basic infrastructure in the area, including reconstruction of the EBM Causeway, however negligence of concerned department has reduced the effectiveness of this effort, “ An immediate action must be taken to provide smooth mobility in the area” he added.
