TEHRAN – Iran failed to launch its satellite into orbit today after the rocket carrying it did not reach escape velocity.
Telecoms Minister Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi in a tweet said the satellite failed at the third stage because the rocket did not reach adequate speed.
Meanwhile, Washington has warned Tehran against undertaking three planned launches.
The United States says Iran is violating the U.N. Security Council resolution that enshrined Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers by using long-range ballistic missile technology.
