KARACHI – The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) remained undefeated to win the HEC Intervarsity Zone ‘G’ Badminton Boys Championship 2020-21. IoBM defeated IBA (3-2) in the finals. The two-day event (February 17-18) was organized under the aegis of the HEC – Pakistan University Sports Board, Islamabad.
The tournament, hosted by IoBM, included eight university teams from across Karachi. The third place was secured by Karachi University. The Sindh Badminton Association (SBA) provided the Technical Officials (Referees) for all matches.
President SBA, Mr. Adnan Siddiqui, and Secretary-General, Mr. Farhan Lashari were present throughout the event. IoBM’s alumnus, Ms. Palwasha Bashir, the current and 10-time Women’s Double Badminton National Champion was the Chief Guest during the closing ceremony. She said that sporting events must take place at the school, college, and university levels to encourage the youth to represent Pakistan at national and international events.
IoBM’s President Mr. Talib Karim; Executive Director Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Organizing Secretary and Manager Sports Mr. Riaz Akbar Contractor were also present.
