Industrial Growth: Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Pledges Stronger Infrastructure to Boost Investment
Chief Minister says improved connectivity, industrial development and public-private partnerships will drive economic growth and expand quality healthcare across Sindh.

KARACHI: Industrial Growth remains a top priority for the Sindh government, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Wednesday. He pledged to improve infrastructure, attract investment and create more employment opportunities across the province.
The chief minister spoke at a ceremony organised by the Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). The event honoured Dr Abdul Bari Khan, founder of the Indus Hospital Network, for his outstanding contribution to healthcare.
Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani attended the ceremony. Government spokesperson Nadir Gabol, Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho, industrialists, business leaders and senior officials also participated.
Murad Ali Shah said strategic infrastructure projects will support economic growth. He added that improved connectivity and better law and order will encourage local and foreign investment.
He described industrial development as one of his government’s highest priorities. He welcomed regular engagement with the business community. He said industrialists play an important role in shaping development plans for industrial zones.
The chief minister highlighted the planned link between the Shaheed Bhutto Expressway and Karachi Port. He called the project a game changer for trade and industry. He said the direct route will reduce transport costs, improve logistics and speed up commercial activity.
Murad Ali Shah assured business leaders that the provincial government will continue upgrading infrastructure in industrial areas. He said the government will maintain development spending despite financial challenges.
He stressed that peace and stability are essential for economic growth. He added that the government responds quickly to security concerns raised by industrialists.
The chief minister paid tribute to Dr Abdul Bari Khan for his humanitarian work. He praised the Indus Hospital Network for providing free, quality healthcare to millions of patients.
Murad Ali Shah recalled his first visit to the Indus Hospital. He said that visit led to a successful public-private partnership. Today, the partnership serves people across Sindh, including underserved districts such as Badin.
KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput thanked the chief minister for supporting the industrial sector. He appreciated the construction of the Shaheed Bhutto Expressway and Korangi flyovers. He also welcomed the Rs2 billion development grant for industrial zones.
Former KATI President Zubair Chhaya praised Dr Abdul Bari Khan for his lifelong service to humanity. He also commended the Sindh government’s support for healthcare institutions, including Gambat Institute, NICVD, Jinnah Hospital, NICH and the Indus Hospital Network.
Dr Abdul Bari Khan thanked KATI and the Sindh government for recognising his work. He said government funding for the Indus Hospital Network has increased from Rs300 million to Rs8 billion. The additional support has helped expand healthcare services across Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan. He added that millions of people now benefit from improved access to quality medical care.
