Lahore: Pakistan’s young pacer, Hasan Ali wishes to take wickets for Pakistan in a tough situation in the upcoming Asia Cup, as the youngster said that he likes to perform under pressure.

Hasan while talking to the media during their practice camp, said that he always try to take wickets when the team needed, instead of just focusing on personal achievement.

“Every bowler wants to take as many wickets as he can but for me the first priority is Pakistan and my wish is to perform in a time when my team needs me the most,” Hasan stated.

The young fast bowler said that although the match against arch-rivals India in the Asia Cup is really important as the whole cricket fraternity is looking forward to it but as a team, they are focusing on every team to participate in the tournament.

“As usual, the match between India and Pakistan will be on top but we are not only sticking to it and also planning differently against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan as they can give tough time,”

Hasan who was the man-of-the-tournament of the Champions Trophy 2017, prefer team performance over individual performances in the team to achieve something extraordinary.

“Teamwork is really important if you want to achieve something beyond expectations and literally it works,” he said.

To a query about non-presence of Virat Kohli in the Indian side, he said that Virat is a top-class player and his presence is worth to the Indian team but on the other side he thinks that there are some other very good players alongside India who can fill in for their captain sharply.

“Virat absence would be a huge blow for Indians but still they have some high profile players,”

The 14th edition of the Asia Cup is just nine days away on September 15 with Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh in its opening match.

Pakistan and India are due to face each other on September 19 at Dubai International stadium.
