Karachi, May 12, 2025: In view of the current security situation between Pakistan and India, the Pakistan Red Crescent Sindh Branch organized a high-level Coordination Meeting at its Provincial Headquarters in Karachi to discuss a unified preparedness strategy aimed at enhancing collective emergency response capacity.
The meeting aimed to bring together all major emergency response organizations in Karachi under a coordinated system to strengthen their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to any potential crisis.
Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Sindh Branch, Mr. Rehan Hashmi, presided over the session and stressed the importance of inter-agency collaboration in building a more resilient emergency management framework.
PRCS Provincial Secretary Kanwar Waseem also suggested for joint Emergency response system. He highlighted the vital role of strategic planning and coordination in the face of growing regional challenges. He appreciated the active participation of key emergency stakeholders in this critical dialogue.
Vice Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Sindh Branch, Mr. Tariq Moen, was also present at the meeting and acknowledged the importance of collective efforts for an effective emergency response.
The meeting was attended by representatives of UN agencies based in Karachi and all major emergency service organizations. The participants shared insights and recommendations focused on improving joint coordination, communication, and collective response mechanisms.
The emergency response organizations agreed to cooperate with each other in any emergency situation and to work together. They also praised PRCS for taking the initiative to organize a coordination meeting during this emergency situation.
The Pakistan Red Crescent Sindh Branch reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating effective emergency preparedness across the province through strong institutional partnerships and collaborative strategies.
