Karachi (INP): In a clarification statement issued by the Pakistan Red Crescent Sindh, it was stated that the welfare plot of the Red Crescent was leased from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in 2011 for 99 years. The organization claims that false propaganda is being spread by the Project Director of Orangi Township to solidify the occupation of shops on the said plot.
The Red Crescent strongly condemned the reports of any actions taken by the Orangi Town Project Director. According to Red Crescent officials, a clinic, vaccination center, and outpatient department (OPD) are already operational on the plot.
They further stated that the Orangi Town Project Director is allegedly conspiring to legalize the status of commercial shops illegally through manipulation. The officials emphasized that the Red Crescent is an international organization with an unquestionable reputation. Its presidency is constitutionally held by the President of Pakistan.
The officials also claimed that the Orangi Project is not complying with the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and is instead supporting illegal occupiers. They clarified that they reserve the legal right to take action against the land mafia and their facilitators.
