Houston TX USA : HHRD’s 3rd Annual Day of Service Celebrated with Alliance for Disaster Relief and many other community organizations. Honorable Congressman AL Green and Honorable Consul General of Pakistan Aftab Chaudhry, State Representative Dr. Suleman Lalani graced the Occasion.
In conjunction with the World Humanitarian Day of the United Nations, Helping for Relief and Development (HHRD) with support from the Alliance for Disaster Relief (AFDR) & several other community entities, organized their 3rd Day of Service in Houston, Texas, USA.
On this occasion, Honorable Congressman AL Green, Texas State Rep Suleiman Lalani, Consul General of Pakistan Aftab Chaudhry, Saeed Sheikh and Dr. Yaqoob Shaikh from AFDR, Former Test Cricket Jalaluddin, HHRD Team Members, many other community notables, and 100+ community volunteers helped prepared & load the 40-Feet Large Container for Gaza, despite the sweltering heat.
Congressman AL Green appealed on the occasion for immediate ceasefire in Gaza, rebuilding of Gaza, and the establishment of Palestine. Consul General Aftab Chaudhry acknowledged the passion of volunteers on this Day of Service of HHRD and urged all to always give time & resources for our fellow human beings. He added people of Pakistan will continue to support our sisters & brothers in Palestine, and all the disadvantaged fellow human being. World Humanitarian Day of the UN is held every year to commemorate the services of all the humanitarian workers, especially those who have laid their lives while serving fellow human beings.
On this occasion of the 3rd Day of Service, HHRD together with more than 15 Community Partner Organizations & Media Partners, including Alliance for Disaster Relief (AFDR) came together to prepare one container of brand-new items to go to Jordan & then to Gaza. Due to overwhelming support of the Houston Community, HHRD through collaboration with AFDR has received enough items to prepare 3 containers for the suffering people of Gaza.
