The terror chief of Hamas in Gaza, Mohammed Deif has survived yet another attempt on his life by the Israelis, so a source in Hamas said in a statement. Soon the relations worsened and the Israeli forces carried out a major air strike on the southern part of the Gaza strip which alleges to strike Deif. Again the strike was part of the protracted conflict, which lead to the loss of lives and property, about ninety lives were lost, and over three hundred people were injured.
Deif has survived for more than 20 years as the mastermind of Hamas’s Qassam Brigades and, thus, has become one of Israel’s high-priority enemies. Most famous for coordinating military operations against the Israel, he is said to have masterminded a number of operations such as suicide bombings.
Deif was born in 1965 in the khan Younis refugee camp, he joined Hamas during the first Intifada based in 1987. He has a Bachelors degree in Sciences from the Islamic University of Gaza and is highly regarded in Palestine due to his defiance to Israel’s plan of liquidating him. Deif’s life participated in numerous attempts on his life: the man was shot in the eye, as well as wounded several times is a symbolic enemy of the resistance movement now.
Nevertheless, Deif comes out from time to time in a show of support for the operations of Hamas through public speeches. He has been directly involved in leadership of the group in construction of tunnels which is an important aspect of military strategy of the Hamas and improvement of the groups bomb making facilities.
The persisting combat situation has produced many casualties among the combatants and civilians who are of interest to the international community. Due to recent aggressions, global institutions like the International Criminal Court have examined the conducts of both sides including Hamas and the Israeli forces to determine the truthfulness of the cases.
Thus, Mohammed Deif continues to be an essential part of the hostility between Israel and Palestine, representing people’s resistance even in conditions of constant aggression and political instability.
