KARACHI, September 8, 2026: Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has praised Pakistan’s young athletes for their outstanding performance at the international level.
He expressed these views during a meeting with young athletes at Governor House Karachi. The players recently secured three gold and two bronze medals at the Grand Slam Youth Taekwondo League 2026.
Governor Praises Young Athletes
Taekwondo players Wajahat Ali Khan, Arham Munaf and Ayan Miraj attended the meeting. Archery player Kiran Gujjar was also present.
The governor congratulated the athletes on their achievements. He said Pakistani youth are demonstrating their abilities in international sports.

Moreover, he described young athletes as a valuable national asset. He said their success is a source of pride for the entire country.

He also highlighted initiatives under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. Various facilities and opportunities are being offered to young athletes through the programme.
The governor urged young people to download the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub. He encouraged them to use the platform to access available opportunities.

According to the governor, sports provide an effective way to channel young people’s abilities positively.
He said Pakistani athletes have repeatedly demonstrated their potential in different sports. Their international achievements also help bring recognition to the country.
Furthermore, Governor Sindh assured his full possible cooperation for promoting sports. He also pledged support for encouraging young athletes.
Athletes Preparing for Olympic Qualification
The Taekwondo coach briefed the governor about the athletes’ ongoing preparations.
He said Pakistani Taekwondo players are working hard to qualify for the Olympic Games. They are also continuing their preparations for upcoming international competitions.
Governor Nehal Hashmi appreciated the athletes and their coach for their dedication. He expressed hope that the young players would achieve further success.
