Gaza Strikes: Israeli Attacks Kill 16 as Humanitarian Crisis Deepens
Health officials report new casualties and worsening conditions as rescue teams struggle to reach victims trapped beneath rubble amid continued fighting.

Rescue workers search through rubble following Israeli strikes in Gaza.
Gaza Strikes continued over the past 48 hours as Israeli attacks killed at least 16 Palestinians, while rescue teams recovered the bodies of nine more people from the rubble of destroyed buildings, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Health officials said more than 20 injured people were taken to hospitals following the latest attacks. At least four of the wounded remain in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll could increase.
Emergency teams are continuing search and rescue operations in heavily damaged areas. However, officials said large amounts of debris, fuel shortages and limited heavy machinery have prevented rescuers from reaching several affected locations, leaving fears that more victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings.

Gaza’s Civil Defence Service said rescue workers are operating under extremely difficult conditions. Prolonged power outages, shortages of medical supplies and limited ambulance services have made it increasingly difficult to provide timely treatment to the injured.
The Israeli military said its operations continue to target Hamas’ military infrastructure, weapons stockpiles and fighters. It has repeatedly stated that Hamas operates from civilian areas, which it says contributes to civilian casualties during military operations.
The latest violence comes despite recent diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions, including a United States-mediated ceasefire initiative and the establishment of a peace mechanism led by President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, the United Nations and international humanitarian organisations have expressed growing concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. Aid agencies warned that severe shortages of food, clean drinking water, medicines and healthcare services continue to affect the population.
Thousands of displaced families remain in temporary shelters, where living conditions have deteriorated as access to essential supplies remains limited.
International organisations have once again called for an immediate ceasefire, stronger protection for civilians and unrestricted humanitarian access, warning that continued fighting and restrictions on aid could further deepen the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
