Karachi, 14th April, 2025 — Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, emphasized the urgent need for technological adaptation, political stability, and a long-term vision to ensure Pakistan’s sustainable growth. He expressed these views during his address as the Chief guest at the National Center in Big Data & Cloud Computing (NCBC) at NED University Karachi.
Highlighting the rapid transformation of the modern world, the Minister stated, “We are facing different kinds of disruptions that we had not faced before — and will continue to face more in the future. In this new era, it is not just technology that must evolve, but society and human behavior must adapt to the technology-enabled world.”
He continued, “The use of technology is the challenge of the present era,” underlining the critical need to equip Pakistan’s youth with digital skills and foster innovation through strategic investments in research and development.
Speaking about Pakistan’s capabilities, Ahsan Iqbal remarked, “Pakistan has no shortage of talent or potential. Vision 2025 was a great plan designed to unlock that potential, but unfortunately, it could not be fully implemented due to unwanted changes that disrupted our democratic term.”
He emphasized the role of national stability and policy consistency, saying, “A supportive ecosystem is a must for a country to grow. The countries that focus on peace, harmony, political stability, and long-term policies are the ones that truly prosper.”
Highlighting the recent signs of economic recovery, he added, “Inflation has decreased, the stock market has surged from 40,000 to 100,000 points within a year, and all major economic indicators are now moving in a positive direction.”
