Karachi, July 3, 2025 —Faysal Bank, one of the country’s leading Islamic Banks, has launched Pakistan’s first Inclusive Communication Guide, developed in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (CERB), under the aegis of the Pakistan Business Council. This guide is a pioneering resource aimed at embedding respectful, inclusive, and sensitive language into workplace culture, setting a new national benchmark for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
The launch event, held in Karachi, brought together business leaders, DEI advocates, industry leaders and representatives from inclusivity partners to celebrate a shared commitment to fostering environments where every voice is heard and valued. Available in English and Braille, the guide represents a significant step towards standardising inclusive terminology in corporate Pakistan. This guide is designed to equip employees and leaders alike with practical tools to engage more thoughtfully and respectfully with diverse groups, including women, persons with disabilities, and marginalised communities. It reflects a broader vision of creating a sustainable impact and driving forward a culture of belonging and accessibility.
Speaking at the launch, Yousaf Hussain, President & CEO of Faysal Bank, said: ” It is one of our strongest beliefs that inclusion begins with language. The words we choose reflect our intent and values. This guide is not just a document; it is a commitment to communicate with empathy, to respect diversity, and to build spaces where everyone feels seen and heard. We hope it serves as a meaningful resource not only within our organization but across Pakistan’s corporate sector.”
Ehsan Malik, CEO of the Pakistan Business Council, also shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “Inclusion is no longer a corporate buzzword, it is a business imperative. This guide stands as an exemplary initiative that can help businesses set the tone for how inclusive culture begins with intentional communication. We commend Faysal Bank for leading by example and encourage others to adopt and adapt this guide across their own ecosystems.”*
The Inclusive Communication Guide is a milestone in Faysal Bank’s ongoing DEI journey, further amplifying its role as a responsible industry leader. By launching a resource that extends beyond its own institutional boundaries, the Bank aspires to create ripples of change across the broader business community, encouraging a shift toward a more inclusive and conscious workplace nationwide.
