According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the delegation was led by Peteris Ustubs, Director (Asia Pacific) at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships. The group also included senior officials from the European Investment Bank and top executives from major multinational companies such as Adidas, Andritz, and IKEA.

The delegation is visiting Pakistan to participate in the EU-Pakistan Business Forum, which aims to strengthen economic engagement between Pakistan and Europe. The EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Raimundas Karoblis, was also present at the meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the delegation and thanked them for their participation in the business forum. He stated that the European Union remains Pakistan’s largest trading partner and the biggest destination for Pakistani exports.

He expressed hope that the forum would help deepen trade and investment ties and assured the delegation that the government is actively working to facilitate foreign investors and improve the business environment in the country.

The prime minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to stabilise Pakistan’s economy amid regional challenges, including rising global oil prices linked to tensions in the Middle East.

Members of the EU delegation appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and expressed gratitude for the government’s support in hosting the business forum. They reiterated their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and exploring new investment opportunities in Pakistan.
