LAHORE — Islamabad Police has inducted a large fleet of RIDDARA all-electric pickup trucks supplied by Capital Smart Motors (CSM), marking one of Pakistan’s first major deployments of battery electric pickups in law enforcement and strengthening the country’s shift toward sustainable mobility.
The handover ceremony took place at the Islamabad Police facility, where officials introduced the new electric vehicles into operational service as part of broader efforts to modernise public sector transport and support the government’s vision for battery electric vehicle (BEV) adoption.
The transition from conventional fuel-powered vehicles aims to improve operational efficiency while reducing emissions across patrol and field activities.
The development reflects Capital Smart Motors’ strategy to expand electric mobility beyond private consumers and accelerate adoption across institutional and government fleets.

Vice Chairman Jahanzaib Zahid has continued to advocate investment in sustainable and future-ready transport solutions, supporting wider efforts to encourage energy-efficient mobility across Pakistan.
Under the leadership of CEO Imran Zahid, Capital Smart Motors has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio and introduced several international EV brands into the Pakistani market. The deployment of RIDDARA vehicles to Islamabad Police reflects the company’s focus on delivering practical and fleet-ready battery electric solutions for public sector institutions.
Capital Smart Motors COO Abid S. Usmani has also contributed to the initiative by advancing fleet readiness and reliability across the company’s electric offerings. The company continues to strengthen local manufacturing capabilities while targeting future institutional applications, including potential expansion into additional government sectors.
Industry observers say public sector adoption, particularly by police and security agencies, can help build wider confidence in electric vehicles and encourage broader market acceptance.
As Pakistan advances its transition toward battery electric mobility, the induction of RIDDARA electric pickups into the Islamabad Police fleet represents a visible step toward aligning institutional transport with national sustainability goals.
