Cylake Raises $245 Million to Accelerate AI-Native Cybersecurity Platform
Cybersecurity startup Cylake has raised $245 million through a convertible note as it expands its team and develops a sovereign, AI-native security platform for highly regulated organisations.

Cylake raises $245 million to accelerate its AI-native cybersecurity platform.
SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 8, 2026: Cylake announced the new funding with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Picture Capital and Redpoint Ventures.
The latest investment brings Cylake’s total funding to $290 million. The company previously raised $45 million in a seed round in March 2026, led by Greylock Partners.
Funding to Accelerate Platform Development
Cylake said the new capital will support continued product development and team expansion.
The company is developing a complete cybersecurity platform designed for organisations that require strict control over their data and infrastructure.
Cylake is currently working with a group of industry-leading design partners. A beta version is expected by the end of 2026, while general availability is planned for 2027.
Cybersecurity Platform Built Around Data Sovereignty
Cylake’s platform is being designed to operate entirely on-premises or within private cloud environments.
This approach allows organisations to maintain greater control over their data, infrastructure and operations. At the same time, the company aims to provide a unified view of security data across an organisation’s infrastructure.
According to Cylake, fragmented security tools can create gaps because they often operate with incomplete information. Its platform instead uses a single data foundation to provide broader visibility and context.
The company also plans to use this foundation to support AI-driven security workflows.

Ravi Mhatre, Partner and Co-founder at Lightspeed Venture Partners, said enterprise cybersecurity requirements have changed significantly with the growth of AI and SaaS.
He said highly regulated organisations face specific requirements around data sovereignty and operational control. According to Mhatre, existing approaches were not designed to fully address those needs.
Mhatre will join Cylake’s Board of Directors.
Rakesh Loonkar, Partner at Picture Capital, will serve as a Board Observer. He said Cylake is already working with major organisations on product development.
He also expressed confidence that demand could increase as the company moves closer to general availability.
Cylake Expands Team Ahead of Beta
Since emerging from stealth in March, Cylake has expanded its engineering and product teams.
The company now has more than 40 employees. It also plans to continue hiring across engineering, product and other key functions.
Cylake CEO and Founder Nir Zuk said the company is focused on organisations that cannot compromise between advanced cybersecurity and control over their infrastructure.
He said public cloud environments are not suitable for every highly regulated organisation. Instead, he argued that cybersecurity architecture must evolve around data completeness, sovereignty and control.
Platform Targets Highly Regulated Organisations
Cylake was co-founded by Nir Zuk, Wilson Xu and Ehud (Udi) Shamir.
The company is developing its platform for some of the world’s largest and most regulated institutions. Its target customers include organisations that operate under strict security, compliance and operational requirements.
The platform is designed to provide full visibility, fine-grained policy controls and attack prevention in sovereign environments, including fully air-gapped infrastructure.
With the latest funding, Cylake plans to accelerate development and expand its workforce ahead of its planned beta launch later this year.
