Coca-Cola Pakistan has contributed 5,000 indigenous trees to support the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination’s “Upscaling Green Pakistan Programme,” marking one of the largest urban plantation initiatives in Islamabad.

The trees were planted at F-6/3 Park, Islamabad, as part of efforts to increase urban green cover, reduce carbon emissions, and support Pakistan’s broader climate resilience goals under the government’s environmental agenda.

The plantation drive featured a formal ceremony attended by Federal Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik, Sunay ?anl?, General Manager of Coca-Cola Icecek (CCI), and Dr. Faisal Hashmi, Senior Director of Coca-Cola Pakistan. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak EPA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), with participation from citizens and youth volunteers.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Musadik Malik stressed the importance of sustained afforestation efforts, stating that trees play a vital role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving environmental conditions in urban areas. He emphasized that future plantation initiatives would focus not only on planting but also on long-term protection and survival of trees. He also encouraged stronger corporate participation in climate action initiatives across Pakistan.

Dr. Faisal Hashmi highlighted Coca-Cola Pakistan’s commitment to environmental sustainability, stating that collaborative plantation efforts demonstrate how public-private partnerships can create meaningful environmental impact. He noted that the company continues to invest in practical, on-ground initiatives aimed at strengthening ecosystems and supporting long-term climate resilience.

F-6/3 Park holds additional significance as the site of Islamabad’s first plastic road, developed through a partnership between CDA, Coca-Cola, and the National Incubation Center. The company has also previously installed recycled plastic benches and waste bins across Islamabad parks and conducted public awareness campaigns focused on environmental responsibility.

This latest plantation drive builds on Coca-Cola System’s wider environmental initiatives in Pakistan, including water stewardship programmes, waste management support, and nationwide tree plantation campaigns. Recently, the company also collaborated with the Pakistan Airports Authority to plant 2,000 climate-resilient trees at Islamabad International Airport.

To date, the Coca-Cola System has contributed more than 250,000 trees across Pakistan as part of its sustainability commitments.

Officials reiterated that continued partnerships between the government and private sector are essential for developing sustainable public spaces and advancing environmental resilience across the country.
