According to Indian media, Delhi Police has arrested a 35-year-old accused named Anand, who created a love drama with 500 girls and women and extorted money from each victim by luring them with marriage and then disappeared. According to the report, this cyber fraudster sometimes pretended to be a doctor and sometimes pretended to be a producer, lawyer and big businessman, deceiving naive girls in the name of love. The accused is said to be an expert in honey trapping women, who targeted more than 500 girls by creating fake social media and dating app profiles and obtained about Rs 2 crore from them. According to the police, this multi-faceted person used to contact women by creating fake profiles on dating and marriage applications. He would first lure them with false promises of love and marriage, then extort money from them by pretending to be in a medical emergency or a business loss and then disappear. He also robbed several girls in the name of promises like modeling and admission in renowned institutes. When the police arrested the accused while acting on a complaint from a victim girl, 4 smartphones, 8 SIM cards, three debit cards, four gold bracelets and five gold chains bought with the money of the thug were recovered from his possession. Examination of his digital devices revealed that the accused was operating multiple fake IDs at the same time and was in touch with several girls in different states. After registering the case, Delhi Police has started searching for his aides with the help of the items recovered from the accused and the revelations made during the investigation.
