Karachi: Byram Dinshawji Avari, renowned businessman and the owner of a prominent hotel chain (Avari Group), passed away in Karachi on Sunday after a prolonged illness.
“With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our dear beloved, Byram D Avari,” his family announced in a statement.
In addition, Paidas / Funeral prayers will be held at Khorshed Villa inside the compound of Beach Luxury Hotel at 01pm on Monday. 23rd January 2023 followed by Sarosh prayers at 1830 hrs (6.30pm) on Monday and Tuesday 23rd -24th January 2023.

According to details, prominent businessman & Chairman Avari Group Byram D. Avari passed away at the age of 81. The businessperson’s last rites will be performed on Monday afternoon.
Avari D. Avari (Baba) was also well-known in Pakistan as a two-time Asian Games gold medalist. He served as commodore of the Karachi Yacht Club in 1976 and 1980. He won a gold medal in enterprise-class yachting at the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1978 alongside Munir Sadiq and he repeated the feat with his wife Goshpi in 1982 in New Delhi. Avari was awarded with the Pride of Performance Award for sports in 1982.
