KARACHI: Members of Pakistan’s business community paid glowing tribute to the country’s armed forces during a ceremony held in Karachi to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq Buny?n-ul-Marsoos, describing the military’s role as decisive in safeguarding national sovereignty and enhancing Pakistan’s global standing.

The event was hosted by prominent businessman Zahid Hameed at his residence and attended by senior business leaders, former military officials, diplomats, and representatives from various sectors of society.
Addressing the gathering, speakers said the success of Marka-e-Haq demonstrated the unity, resilience, and strength of the Pakistani nation and its armed forces. They maintained that Pakistan had emerged stronger on the international stage and that the country’s image and prestige had significantly improved worldwide.
The ceremony featured speeches by host Zahid Hameed, Senior Vice President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Saqib Fayyaz Magoon, and businessman Danish Aman. Other speakers included Sheikh Afzal Hussain, Adnan Zuhour, Farhan Ashrafi, Saad Imam, Umar Butt, and Farooq Ahmed.
Patriotic songs and documentaries highlighting the sacrifices and achievements of the Pakistan Army were also presented during the event.
Among the notable attendees were Zubair Motiwala, Admiral Armaghan, Brigadier Salman Qureshi, Director General Foreign Ministry Irfan Soomro, Khalid Tawab, Zubair Chhaya, Umar Khan, Ahmer Azeem, and representatives of the armed forces, along with a large number of men and women from different walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Yaqoob Awan said the success of Marka-e-Haq was made possible through national unity and collective determination. He stated that Pakistan’s response against a much stronger adversary sent a clear message that the country possesses the capability to defend itself against any aggression.
Host Zahid Hameed said the entire nation stood united behind the armed forces during the conflict and added that the business community would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the military for the country’s security and stability.
Saqib Fayyaz Magoon said Pakistan would now focus on economic development and transform itself into an “Asian Tiger.” He claimed that international investors were increasingly showing interest in Pakistan following the country’s strengthened global image.
Danish Aman remarked that the large turnout at the event reflected the public’s strong support for the armed forces. He said Pakistanis now proudly present their passports abroad and noted that similar events commemorating Marka-e-Haq and Buny?n-ul-Marsoos were also being organized internationally.
The ceremony concluded with renewed expressions of solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces and a pledge to work collectively for national progress and stability.
