Aurat March Lahore has called for an end to internet censorship, the abolition of defamation laws, the establishment of a family court in Gilgit-Baltistan, and the enforcement of women’s rights legislation in Punjab.
The march took place today in Lahore, where participants also advocated for the rights of religious and gender minorities, along with other marginalized communities. Protesters raised awareness about various social issues and urged the government to take immediate action.
A day before the event, organizers confirmed that the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore had officially approved the march. The procession began at the Lahore Press Club at 2 PM and moved towards Faletti’s Hotel along Edgerton Road.
Strict security arrangements were in place to safeguard the demonstrators. Organizers also expressed gratitude to the Lahore High Court for upholding their right to peaceful assembly.
