KARACHI: Chairman Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) Muhammad Altaf Tai has praised Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Baluchistan Abdul Quddus Bijenzo for approving status of Special Economic District to Gwadar and said that this step will convert Gwadar into economic power house of Pakistan.
In a statement, Chairman ABAD also requested Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to include Special Economic District of Gwadar into federal budget. ABAD was demanding to give status of Special Economic District to Gwadar since a long time; he said adding that ABAD had sent a letter to the Prime Minister in January 2023 to declare Gwadar Special Economic District. He said that this step will be a game changer for the whole region as Special Economic District Gwadar will create a number of opportunities for investment, trade and employment. He said that businessmen should grab this opportunity because international business houses and investors are taking interest in Gwadar and the status of Special Economic District will attract more attractions of international investors and traders due to tax exemption and ease of doing business.
Altaf Tai also appreciated active role of Senator Kahuda Babar and MPA Balochistan from Gwadar Mir Hammal Kalmati for this purpose and said that all political forces should play their part for Gwadar, which is future lifeline of Pakistan’s economy.
