The budget for the next financial year will be approved on June 30, while the finance bill will be tabled in the National Assembly a day earlier. As per the schedule, it will be sent immediately on the same day for approval from the President.
However, sources have expressed suspicion that the President may hold back for approval as per the previous record as President Arif Alvi has adopted the style of a hardliner of a political party instead of the President. However, in view of this concern, the government has made arrangements for the pro-budget laws and in this regard, all ministries, divisions and relevant departments will start implementing the budget bill from July 1.
