Ali Raza Sadpara fell from mountain , seriously injured

Leading Pakistani mountaineer Ali Raza Sadpara fell from a mountain during a routine training exercise and suffered severe injuries, according to the Alpine Club of Pakistan, which broke his spine and ribs.

Ali Raza Sadpara, 55, is one of Pakistan’s leading mountaineers.

He has climbed Nanga Parbat, Gesherbrum One, Broadpack and Gesherbrum Two a total of 17 times.

Ali Raza Sadpara had planned for this year’s two summits and was practicing in the mountains of Gilgit on Tuesday morning to prepare for it.

He was rescued and rushed to hospital.

According to doctors, Ali Raza Sadpara’s spinal cord and ribs were damaged. 

The incident occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday and he was transferred to the regional hospital. According to doctors, the veteran mountaineer fractured his spine and ribs in the accident.

His son, Bashir Husain, has appealed to the nation for his father’s health.

Sadpara was training for the K2 summit later this year.

“I have just received a message from Pakistan that our master and legend Ali Raza Sadpara had an accident and fractured his spine,” said Karrar Haidri, general secretFGN of the Pakistan Alpine Club.

“This is the moment when our climbing community and other related people must stand up and support our legend. He has trained Army troops and rendered many services to Pakistan,” he added.

The 55-year-old began his climbing career in 1986 as a high-altitude Porter’s on K2. He had summited Nanga Parbat (2005), Gasherbrum one (1990-2000-2017), Gasherbrum two (1998-2004-2017-2018-2021) and Broad Peak (1993-2005-2011-2017) SiaKangri (1996) , Baltoro Kangri (2000) and Spantik.

Made two attempts to climb biggest mountain K2 but unfortunately he turned back both times due to bad weather. Both times there are only 200 meters left to the top.

Sadpara also holds the record for climbing four peaks 17 times.
