The company says the recent decision to impose sanctions on Russia has not affected Tiktok’s messaging service.

“Safety is our number one priority, and we will continue to review the situation in Russia so that we can determine whether to resume service,” Tiktok said in a statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday signed a bill that could carry up to 15 years in prison for broadcasting “fake news” about the Russian military.

Keep in mind that one billion users from all over the world use Tiktok.

Tiktok also said in its message that it is a platform for providing creativity and entertainment that can be a means of bringing peace and human relationships during war.

The statement added that during this crisis, Tiktok is aware of the growing dangers and effects of misleading information and is working to take further security measures.
