KARACHI – A large number of Executive Committee Members of FPCCI representing Trade Bodies of all provinces of Pakistan have expressed their great concern and resentment on the arbitrary move initiated by a person unlawfully occupied the office of President FPCCI, for the last seven months, to prolong his unlawful period to two years.
They vehemently rejected the proposal of extension of tenure of Office bearers of FPCCI for two years and stated that this would be a great tyranny to the business community of small provinces KPK, Balochistan and Trade Bodies located in the administrative Federal areas. They further added that conspiracy being hedged to deprive the representatives of trade bodies of small provinces who get a chance after 7 years in present rotation and in new proposed rotation they would get chance in FPCCI after 14 years which is not acceptable at any cost.
The proposal for extension of period of Executive Committee of FPCCI for two years is completely contrary to the Trade organization Act (ToA) 2013, Trade Organization Rules (ToR) 2013 and bylaws of entire trade bodies of Pakistan who nominate their representatives on Executive Committee of FPCCI. The Trade Bodies which are known as Member Bodies of FPCCI have a one year tenure which does not match the new proposal of two years tenure of FPCCI.
They said that for the vestige interest Nasir Hayat Magon illegitimate president of FPCCI has vitiated amongst the members of trade bodies.
The members also strongly reacted that the matter of extension never placed in the executive committee or general body meeting of FPCCI. They said that such move was rejected and condemned in the past by executive committee and general body members of FPCCI in their meetings.
The members of KPK, Balochsitan and Federal Area have requested the Standing Committee of National Assembly to disregard proposal of extension of tenure of FPCCI for two years to provide justice to them.
