Qatar Airways Expands Global Network to Over 170 Destinations This Winter

Qatar Airways will expand its global network to more than 170 destinations during the 2026–2027 winter season, strengthening connectivity across six continents.

The airline will operate more than 186 weekly flights across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. Passengers will also have greater connections through Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Qatar Airways will resume daily flights to Zanzibar from October 25, 2026. It will also restart daily services to Canberra via Melbourne from December 9.

Starlink Connectivity Expands

Qatar Airways is also accelerating the rollout of Starlink across its network.

The airline said up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights will operate each day. More than 150 widebody aircraft will offer the service, giving passengers access to high-speed Wi-Fi during flights.

The winter schedule reflects strong travel demand and includes several route resumptions and frequency increases.

More Flights Across Africa

Qatar Airways will resume daily flights to Zanzibar, Tanzania, from October 25. The move will strengthen connections for tourism and trade across the region.

Services to Seychelles will also increase from four to seven weekly flights from March 1, 2027.

Meanwhile, flights to Johannesburg will rise from 14 to 18 weekly from December 2, 2026. The increase will give passengers more flexibility for business and leisure travel.

Stronger Americas Connectivity

In North America, Qatar Airways will increase flights to Montréal from five to seven weekly from October 25.

The airline said the move will raise seat capacity by 40 percent. It will also support growing travel demand from the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East.

Asia Pacific Sees Major Growth

Asia Pacific will receive several frequency increases during the winter season.

Flights to Phuket will rise from 14 to 21 weekly from October 25. Services to Malé in the Maldives will also increase from 12 to 21 weekly.

From November 7, flights to Ho Chi Minh City will rise from seven to 11 weekly. Qatar Airways will also reintroduce four direct weekly flights between Doha and Ho Chi Minh City.

The existing Doha–Ho Chi Minh City–Phnom Penh service will continue. This will provide additional options for passengers travelling to Vietnam and beyond.

Kuala Lumpur will receive 18 weekly Qatar Airways flights from October 25. The service will be supported by oneworld partner Malaysia Airlines, which operates 14 weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Doha.

Canberra Flights to Resume

Qatar Airways will resume daily flights to Canberra via Melbourne from December 9.

The service will reconnect Australia’s capital with the airline’s global network. It will also provide additional links to destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

At the same time, Qatar Airways will double its Melbourne services from seven to 14 weekly flights.

Virgin Australia will also expand its Doha services in partnership with Qatar Airways.

Sydney flights will increase from seven to 14 weekly. This will bring the combined Qatar Airways and Virgin Australia schedule to 21 weekly flights.

Brisbane will restart with three weekly flights, taking the combined total to 10. Perth will also restart with four weekly flights, bringing the combined total to 11 weekly services.

European Network Gets More Capacity

Qatar Airways will further expand its European operations.

Flights to London Heathrow will increase from 49 to 56 weekly from October 25. The airline said the move will add 11 percent capacity.

British Airways, a Qatar Airways codeshare partner, will continue to operate a daily service between London and Doha.

In Germany, Frankfurt services will increase from 18 to 21 weekly from December 7. The change will add seven percent capacity.

Four Saudi Routes Return

Qatar Airways will also increase its Middle East operations by 10 percent during the winter season.

The airline will resume services to four Saudi Arabian destinations.

Flights to Qassim will restart on October 25, followed by Taif on October 31. Services to Yanbu will resume on January 2, 2027, while Tabuk flights will return on January 3.

Each destination will receive two weekly flights.

The expansion will take Qatar Airways’ Saudi Arabian operations to more than 155 weekly flights. This represents an increase of more than 10 percent compared with the summer schedule.

The airline’s Saudi network will grow to 12 destinations.

Nearly 1,800 Weekly Frequencies Planned

Qatar Airways said it plans nearly 1,800 weekly frequencies during December 2026.

The airline said the winter schedule will provide passengers with more choices and stronger global connectivity.
