BAJK CEO Malik Muhammad Babar Ayyaz has officially assumed charge as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (BAJK), bringing more than 27 years of banking experience to the state-owned financial institution.

Mr Ayyaz takes over at a crucial stage in the bank’s development as BAJK pursues stronger financial performance, digital transformation and expanded banking services. His appointment also supports the bank’s long-term vision of enhancing financial inclusion and strengthening its presence in Pakistan’s banking sector.

Speaking on the appointment, Chief Secretary of the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman BAJK, Khushkal Khan, congratulated the bank on appointing an experienced banking professional.

He said the leadership change would strengthen BAJK’s role in financial inclusion, SME financing and priority sector lending. He also expressed confidence that the appointment would support the bank’s ambition to secure a nationwide commercial banking licence.

Mr Ayyaz said he was honoured to lead BAJK during an important period of growth and transformation.

He said the bank would work closely with its Board of Directors, management and employees to strengthen financial performance, accelerate digital transformation and expand Islamic banking and SME banking services.

He added that BAJK would continue improving customer experience, enhancing governance and risk management, promoting financial inclusion and delivering sustainable value for customers, businesses and the economy of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
