Clifton Robbery: Police Yet to Recover Rs20 Million Looted in Dr Akash Murder Case
Investigators tell court three arrested suspects confessed to the robbery and shooting, while police continue searching for the remaining accused and the missing cash.

KARACHI: Clifton Robbery investigators have yet to recover the Rs20 million stolen during the deadly Teen Talwar robbery that claimed the life of Dr Akash, according to a preliminary investigation report submitted before the Judicial Magistrate South.
The report states that police have arrested three suspects who allegedly confessed to their involvement in the robbery and shooting. Investigators have also declared three additional suspects, including a woman, as absconders and continue efforts to arrest the remaining members of the alleged gang.
Police identified the arrested suspects as Suresh alias Sagar, Ram Chand and Anil. During interrogation, the suspects allegedly admitted that they robbed Dr Akash and opened fire during the incident. Police first arrested the three men in an arms case before naming them in the murder investigation following their alleged confessions.
According to the investigation report, the suspects told police that they targeted a man after he withdrew cash from a bank near Teen Talwar. They allegedly snatched the money and attempted to escape. A security guard then opened fire on them, prompting the suspects to return fire before fleeing the scene.

The suspects allegedly told investigators that they later discovered a man had died during the exchange of gunfire. Police subsequently added their names to the murder case involving Dr Akash.
Investigators informed the court that they have not yet recovered the stolen Rs20 million. They also said they still need to arrest the remaining suspects and conduct an identification parade for the accused already in custody.
The report describes the arrested men as habitual offenders and states that investigators are also questioning them in connection with several other criminal cases.
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue efforts to recover the looted money, trace the remaining suspects and complete the legal process.
