Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Friday inaugurated a newly constructed fire station in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, marking the opening of the area’s first new fire station in three decades. Karachi Fire Station officials said the facility will improve emergency response capabilities and provide faster fire and rescue services to nearby communities.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Wahab said the city administration had drawn lessons from past emergencies and was working to strengthen public infrastructure to better prepare for future challenges. He said the new fire station reflects the municipality’s commitment to improving essential civic services across Karachi.

The mayor added that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is not only restoring existing fire stations but also upgrading firefighting machinery, rescue vehicles and operational equipment to improve the efficiency of emergency services.
He said the Pakistan Peoples Party-led administration remains committed to improving every sector of the city and will continue investing in projects that enhance public safety and municipal services.
Municipal Commissioner Abrar Jaffar, along with other senior officials, accompanied Mayor Murtaza Wahab during the inauguration ceremony.
