She said Jackson played an important role in shaping her artistic journey.

Performances and Comedy Take Centre Stage
Organisers hosted the event at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
BET and several Paramount-owned channels broadcast the ceremony live.
Comedian Druski hosted the show and became its youngest host.
He opened the night with a humorous pastor-inspired performance.
His appearance mixed comedy with references to spirituality.
Meanwhile, Cardi B, Raye, T.I., Kehlani, Doechii and Don Toliver delivered live performances.
Sylvia Rhone Receives Special Recognition
Music executive Sylvia Rhone received the BET Ultimate Icon Award.
The honour recognises people who create lasting impact in entertainment and the Black community.
While accepting the award, Rhone praised artists and creators for shaping culture.
She also encouraged the next generation to protect creativity and preserve musical artistry.
Career Legacy and Additional Winners
Rhone has worked in the music industry for more than 50 years.
She became the first Black woman to hold senior leadership positions across several major record labels.
Throughout her career, she mentored artists including Missy Elliott, Brandy and Busta Rhymes.
Elsewhere, Cardi B won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist.
Lauryn Hill received the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award.
Celebration of Entertainment Excellence
This year’s ceremony recognised achievements across music, film and culture.
The event also honoured artists and executives who continue to influence global entertainment.
