KARACHI: Erum Saaim, Chairperson of the Sakan-e-Sheza Trust, paid tribute to mothers during a special ceremony organized in Karachi on the occasion of International Mothers’ Day, describing mothers as the greatest blessing of Allah Almighty whose love, sacrifice, and guidance shape both families and society.
Addressing participants at the event, Erum Saaim said that a mother is not only the foundation of a home but also a key pillar in the development of a strong, dignified, and compassionate society.
“A mother’s love is selfless, her sacrifices are eternal, and her prayers become a source of success, peace, and happiness in life,” she said.
She emphasized that a mother’s lap is the first school where children learn essential values such as morality, humanity, love, tolerance, and compassion — values that guide them throughout their lives.
Erum Saaim said the role and services of mothers could never be fully repaid and stressed that mothers deserve respect, care, and appreciation every day rather than on just one occasion annually.
She also highlighted the challenges faced by mothers in society and called for collective efforts to provide women and mothers with better facilities, opportunities, protection, and dignity.
According to her, the Sakan-e-Sheza Trust is actively working on multiple welfare initiatives focused on the empowerment and well-being of women, particularly mothers.
These projects include programs related to healthcare, education, skill development, and financial independence aimed at enabling women to become active, confident, and respected members of society.
During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation and gifts were presented to several mothers in recognition of their dedication, sacrifices, and contributions to their families and society.
Participants at the event paid tribute to the greatness of mothers and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting and promoting the rights, respect, and dignity of mothers within homes and communities.
Erum Saaim urged the younger generation to take time from their busy lives to express love, sincerity, and gratitude toward their mothers.
“A civilized and successful society is one where mothers are respected, protected, and valued,” she said. “Respecting mothers is not only our moral duty but also a source of Allah’s pleasure and collective progress.”
