The event was attended by Shakeel Qaimkhani, District Governor, along with Fahad Sikandar, District Nominee, Abdul Jabbar Sheikh, District Governor Designate, and Furqan Sheikh, District Secretary.

A large number of Rotary members and guests participated in the ceremony, including new members who joined the Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus during the event.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem of Pakistan. Prior to the ceremony, guests attended a high-tea reception.

During the event, Fawad Sheikh delivered the welcome address and formally welcomed the District Governor and distinguished guests. He informed the audience that the club had presented its annual performance report to the Governor, highlighting various welfare and community development projects completed during the year.

Fawad Sheikh thanked the District Governor for his leadership, guidance, and active participation in several Rotary initiatives over the past ten months. He also discussed the club’s ongoing and upcoming service projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Ali Haider, Secretary General of Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus, presented an eleven-month performance report detailing the club’s welfare activities.

He stated that Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus had completed welfare projects worth approximately Rs15 million across education, healthcare, and community development sectors during the past eleven months, with several additional projects currently underway.

Muhammad Ali Haider particularly highlighted the Sindh Mulk Project, a major initiative aimed at bringing out-of-school children back into the education system.

He said the project was being launched in collaboration with UNICEF and Sindh Literacy Education through a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and would continue for three years.

According to him, two districts — one in Sukkur and one in Karachi’s Keamari area — have been selected under the pilot phase of the program.

“This initiative is expected to become Rotary’s next signature project after the polio campaign,” he said, adding that approximately 25 million children in Pakistan are currently out of school and urgent efforts are needed to reintegrate them into educational institutions and provide them with skills for a better future.

The Secretary General also informed participants that Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus had become the second-largest club in the district in terms of membership, projects, and service activities.

He said the club’s membership had increased from 37 members at the beginning of the Rotary year to 54 members currently, with expectations to reach 60 members in the near future.

During the ceremony, new members were introduced to the District Governor and honorary pins were awarded to 10 newly inducted members.

In recognition of outstanding services to the club, shields were presented by the District Governor to Rashid Hashmi and Chaudhry Ansar Javed.

Additionally, Ana Haider and Fahad Ansari received awards for their exceptional volunteer contributions.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative shields and bouquets were presented to distinguished guests by former presidents and club members, while Aslam Khaliq delivered the vote of thanks.

The event concluded with a group photograph featuring the District Governor and Rotary Club members.
