KARACHI (Staff Reporter): Sindh Senior Minister for Food, Makhdoom Mehboob Uz Zaman, has said that the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq” (Battle of Truth) stands as a powerful reminder of Pakistan’s unity, strength and unwavering resolve in defending its sovereignty.

In a statement marking May 10, 2025, he said the day would always be remembered in history when the Armed Forces of Pakistan, through courage, discipline and professionalism, “crushed the enemy’s arrogance” and successfully safeguarded the country’s territorial integrity.
He extended congratulations to the entire nation, the Pakistan Armed Forces, martyrs and veterans, paying tribute to their sacrifices and service to the homeland.
Makhdoom Mehboob Uz Zaman praised President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership during the conflict, stating that their decisions and coordination reflected strong national direction at a critical time.
He said the success of Marka-e-Haq was a clear demonstration of Pakistan’s military capability, national cohesion and the patriotic spirit of its people. According to him, the armed forces displayed exceptional bravery, operational excellence and strategic depth, effectively countering hostile intentions and sending a strong message that Pakistan’s defence is non-negotiable.
Paying homage to martyrs and veterans, the minister said their sacrifices are the nation’s greatest asset and will always be remembered with pride and honour. He added that the nation stands firmly with its armed forces “like a fortified wall” and remains ready to make every sacrifice for the defence of the country.
He also acknowledged Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s diplomatic efforts, saying he effectively presented Pakistan’s stance on international platforms while highlighting the country’s commitment to peace, regional stability and diplomacy.
Makhdoom Mehboob Uz Zaman further stated that the outcome of Marka-e-Haq proved Pakistan’s resilience and unity, adding that no adversary can weaken the determination and patriotism of the Pakistani nation.
He emphasized the importance of national unity, collective responsibility and continued support for the armed forces to ensure Pakistan’s stability, security and progress. He also urged the youth to adopt the values of sacrifice, discipline and patriotism demonstrated during the historic moment.
Concluding his message, he said the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq is not only a reflection of a historic victory but also a renewed pledge to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty, dignity and future under all circumstances.
