KARACHI, April 25: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan lauded the longstanding contributions of the Parsi community, describing their 133-year legacy of service and dedication as a continuing source of inspiration for Pakistan.

Addressing an event in Karachi, the minister highlighted the community’s historic role in the country’s social and economic development. “It has been your cooperation for the last 133 years, and your contribution to Karachi and Pakistan is highly valued,” he said.
Jam Kamal Khan also spoke of his personal connection with the community, noting that his family had maintained close ties with the Parsis over generations. He praised their consistent commitment to national progress and civic responsibility.
Recognition of Community Legacy
The minister termed it a significant milestone that the community had begun formally recognising its own members and achievements. He said such initiatives were essential for preserving heritage and inspiring future generations.
“This is the first time you are formally recognising your own people, and it is a commendable step towards preserving your legacy,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of Karachi, Jam Kamal Khan described the city as a hub of opportunity and talent. He expressed optimism about its future, saying the metropolis would regain its momentum as a centre of growth and development.
“Karachi is a beautiful city that has given recognition to countless individuals. I am hopeful that Karachi will see good times again, and people will return to contribute to its progress,” he said.
He further noted that as a port city, Karachi has historically produced individuals who have excelled both nationally and internationally.
