BEIJING : An 89-year-old woman in the Chinese capital Beijing was seen descending from the 27th floor of a residential building. The woman had accidentally locked herself in the room. A cleaner and a security guard heard some noises and when they looked up, they were stunned when they saw the 89-year-old woman descending from the railing designed to protect the air conditioner. They immediately contacted the police and shouted at the woman to hold on to the railing until the rescue team arrived. But the woman continued to descend and when she stopped due to fatigue, she had reached the 21st floor, which is 50 meters above ground level. Firefighters built a bridge with a stretcher between the makeshift platform and the 21st-floor apartment 20 minutes later and pulled the woman inside the building.
