Security Forces Foil Infiltration Attempt, Kill 30 Indian-Backed Militants in North Waziristan

NORTH WAZIRISTAN – Pakistan’s security forces successfully repelled a major infiltration attempt by the Indian-sponsored militant group Fitna Al-Khawarij near the Pak-Afghan border, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported by ARY News on Friday.

During an intelligence-based operation in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan, security forces killed 30 militants and recovered a large stockpile of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. The operation highlighted the military’s operational preparedness and unwavering resolve to combat cross-border terrorism.

ISPR emphasized Pakistan’s firm stance against foreign-sponsored terrorism, particularly from India-backed groups, and reiterated the country’s readiness to defend its borders against any threat.

The military’s media wing also urged the interim Afghan government to ensure that Afghan territory is not used to launch attacks against Pakistan by proxy groups. ISPR maintained that lasting regional peace depends on denying safe havens to such elements.

Background:

This is not the first major infiltration attempt in the region. In April 2025, security forces similarly thwarted a large-scale intrusion, killing 54 Khawarij in the same Hassan Khel area. The militants were detected trying to cross into Pakistani territory during the nights of April 25–27 and were engaged and neutralized through precise military action.

These back-to-back operations underline Pakistan’s continued counter-terrorism vigilance and highlight the persistent threats from across the western border, allegedly supported by hostile foreign elements.
