Pakistani spinner Noman Ali has etched his name in history by becoming the first Pakistani spinner to claim a hat-trick in Test cricket during the second PAK vs WI Test at Multan Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

The left-arm spinner dismantled the West Indies batting lineup with his crafty deliveries, strengthening Pakistan’s hold on the match. Noman achieved this milestone in the 12th over after West Indies opted to bat first on a spin-friendly pitch.

His hat-trick began with the dismissal of Justin Greaves (1) on the first ball of the over, bringing Tevin Imlach to the crease. However, Imlach’s stay was brief as he fell lbw to Noman on the very next delivery, departing for a golden duck. Noman then bowled out Kevin Sinclair to complete his historic feat.

West Indies struggled after choosing to bat first, with Noman Ali also securing the first wicket in the second over of their innings. Besides Noman, Sajid Khan took two wickets, while debutant Kashif Ali and Abrar Ahmed claimed one wicket each, leaving the visitors struggling at 54 for the loss of eight wickets.

Pakistan currently leads the two-match series 1-0 after securing a 127-run victory in the first Test. In that match, Pakistani spinners Sajid Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Noman Ali dominated West Indies’ chase of a 251-run target.

Pakistan had set a target of 251 runs after being dismissed for just 157 in their second innings. Sajid Khan emerged as the standout performer, taking nine wickets in the match and earning the man-of-the-match award.
