ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has reaffirmed party founder Imran Khan’s demand for the establishment of a judicial commission, ARY News reported.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail on Monday, Barrister Gohar stated that Imran Khan has instructed party leaders to refrain from engaging in a fourth round of negotiations with the government unless their demand for a judicial commission is fulfilled within seven days.

While expressing PTI’s willingness to continue discussions with the government, Gohar emphasized that further dialogue would only proceed if the demanded judicial commissions are formed.

He expressed doubts over the progress of the negotiations, highlighting that PTI is still waiting for concrete steps regarding the establishment of the commissions.

Additionally, Gohar criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui’s remarks concerning his meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. He clarified that the meeting was solely focused on law and order issues and urged Siddiqui to avoid making statements that could negatively impact the ongoing talks.

The PTI chairman called on the government to prioritize the negotiation process, describing it as vital for the country’s future.

It is important to mention that PTI has requested the federal government to set up two judicial commissions—one to investigate the events of May 9 and Imran Khan’s arrest, and the other to probe incidents that took place between November 24 and 27.

PTI insists that both commissions should be chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan and include three Supreme Court judges.
