TIKA ESTABLISHED AN IT LAB IN THE UNIVERSITY OF KARACHI

Karachi : Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has established a modern computer laboratory at the Faculty of Education in the University of Karachi, one of Pakistan’s prominent higher education institutions, established in 1951 following the country’s independence. The computer laboratory was handed over to faculty officials in a program attended by the TIKA delegation led by Dursun Ali Yaiacan, Head of the East and South Asia, Pacific, and Latin America Department, and Cemal Sangu, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Karachi, as part of their opening ceremonies and meetings in Pakistan.Dursun Ali Yaiacan emphasized TIKA’s commitment to educational development in the countries where they undertake projects, highlighting that the establishment of the computer laboratory at the Faculty of Education, where future educators are trained, is a testament to this commitment.
Speaking about Türkiye’s educational activities in Pakistan, Consul General Sangu mentioned Türkiye’s continuous support for education in the brotherly nation through various institutions. He expressed his pleasure in TIKA’s role in contributing to Pakistan’s educational development through significant projects.
Following the handover of the computer laboratory, which is expected to benefit approximately 1,500 students, TIKA delegation and Consul General Sangu engaged in discussions with faculty members and students about education. Faculty members and students expressed their satisfaction with the establishment of the computer laboratory and thanked TIKA and Türkiye for choosing their faculty for the project.
Over 150 Educational Projects in 15 Years Operating in Pakistan since 2010 through its offices in Islamabad and Karachi, TIKA places great importance on education in its development projects. TIKA has significantly contributed to the enhancement of educational capacities by renovating numerous schools across various provinces of Pakistan and providing school furniture and establishing laboratories. With over 150 educational projects completed in 15 years, TIKA continues to support educational development at all levels in Pakistan.
