The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Karachi will experience chilly weather over the next 24 hours, with minimum temperatures ranging between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius.
Residents can expect cold and dry conditions, with maximum temperatures likely to hover between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. In the past 24 hours, Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius, with northeastern winds blowing at speeds of 8 to 10 kilometers per hour and a humidity level of 41%.
Adding to the concerns, the PMD has issued a warning about Karachi’s hazardous air quality.
The city ranks as the second most polluted in the country, with an alarming Air Quality Index (AQI) of 214.
Elsewhere, Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience cold and partly cloudy weather on Tuesday. Light rain and snowfall over the hills are anticipated in the upper districts during this period.
According to the PMD, continental air is currently prevailing over most parts of Pakistan. However, a shallow westerly wave is expected to impact western and extreme northern regions of the country starting tomorrow evening or night.
