Residents of Karachi, many of whom eagerly anticipate the city’s brief winters, are finally experiencing a cold wave as temperatures have dropped to 11 degrees Celsius.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), with humidity levels at 36% and northeasterly winds blowing at eight kilometers per hour, the minimum temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 10 and 12°C.
This drop in temperature follows a warning from the Met Office last week about a “mild cold wave” affecting Sindh, with nighttime temperatures predicted to fall between 7 and 9°C.
Karachi is not the only city experiencing changing weather conditions; various areas in Balochistan have also seen temperatures plunge below zero due to the ongoing cold wave in the province.
The provincial capital, Quetta, recorded a minimum temperature of -4°C, while Kalat experienced even colder conditions at -6°C.
Other regions with low temperatures include Nokkundi (0°C), Gwadar (7°C), and Sibi (9°C).
In Ziarat, residents are facing challenges due to cold winds, frozen water pipes, and gas outages.
